Amit Bagaria, the Managing Trustee of Bagaria Bal Vidya Niketan Samiti, is an entrepreneur and founder Chairman of three companies – Asipac Projects, India’s leading mall planning, development and leasing consultants which has planned seven of India’s 15 largest malls; Asipac Mall Services, India’s fastest growing mall management company;Men and Boys, India’s first retail chain for men’s skincare, cosmetics and grooming products.
During college education in USA, in 1987, Mr. Bagaria started his career as a retail intern with Hallmark Cards in USA. After returning to India, he worked with the diversified family business for two years. In 1991, he set up a medical technology business which in 1996 transformed into a 50:50 JV with an American Fortune 500 corporation, to provide hospital planning and design. In 2003, he changed Asipac’s focus towards malls and real estate. Asipac is credited with many firsts in Indian real estate and has won several awards.
Mr. Bagaria has been a speaker or an anchor at India Fashion Forum 2005, Hotel Investment Conference South Asia 2006, CREDAI National Conventions in 2006, 2007 and 2008, Franchise & Retail Opportunities Summit 2007, CII Estate South 2007, Managing Construction Risk 2008, Economic Times Pre-Budget Symposium 2008, GIREM 2008 and 2009, GRI World Summit London 2008, Cityscape Dubai 2009, India Shopping Centre Forum 2010, India Retail Forum 2010 and East India Retail Forum 2011. He was Jury Member for the Images Shopping Centre Awards 2010 and the Property World Property Awards 2010.
He has co-authored a college textbook on Hospital Planning and has published several articles in DNA, Indian Express, Images Mall Yearbook and Malls in India. He writes regular articles as a guest author for Images Retail and Shopping Centre News magazines. He has been a Member of FICCI National Housing Committee, CII National Healthcare Committee, and an invitee to the Board of Shopping Centres Association of India. Mr. Bagaria or his businesses have featured in 230+ articles in leading publications in India, USA, UK, France, HK and Brazil, including 20+ cover / front page stories and 40+ TV features
